Shale squeezed up into karst passage at base of Worland Limestone

A mixture of pulverized rock from below the Worland has been squeezed
up into a solution passage at the base of the limestone. Iron oxides are
concentrated at the advancing front of the "big squeeze." Greenish gray
shale directly beneath the Worland may by Lake Neosho Shale that was
pushed ahead of the conglomerate and limestone material. Beneath the
solution passage is a lens of limestone that is partially altered to tripoli
chert.
