Patellilabia sp.
gastropod
Mississippian
Fern Glen Formation
Jefferson County, Missouri
![]()
This specimen was originally incorrectly identified
as a Platyceras. Thanks to Dr. Anderson, we now
have the correct identification.
Viewer Comments:
The gastropod you have figured and labeled
Platyceras sp. Is actually a Patellilabia sp.
Patellilabia have a flared aperture where
Platyceras have elongated apertures. The
specimen you have figured is really nice.
