Lyropora sp.

This is an Extremely Large specimen

The Ridenhower formation is known for blastoids,
however, the Lyropora is often overlooked.

Note: Some refer to this locality as the Paint Creek
formation. However, Paint Creek is actually
the "Group" name. The Ridenhower limestone is
not exposed at this locality, however the associated
reddish green shale is.

Limestone lenses are found scattered in the shale.
This specimen was found in one of the lenses.

This specimen was not found in Missouri. However,
the locality is considered to be in the St. Louis area.
Just across the river from St. Louis.
