Chlorellopsis colonia Reis

Museum grade stromatolite head, Chlorellopsis colonia Reis, a
classic Eocene head. Note additional debris. Originally calcium
carbonate, they have been very well silified from the silica rich
volcanic ash from the Absoroka Mtns to the Northwest and from
California and Idaho volcanics of the Eocene and later periods.
