Beekite rings on brachiopods

These are examples of beekite formation on fossils. This is a common
occurrence on the Pennsylvanian fossils of Eastern Nebraska an Western Iowa.
Since moving to Oklahoma, I have found it frequently on the brachiopods from
the Lower Devonian of Oklahoma. They occur in the layers with the tripolitic
chert nodules.
