Polystichum acrostichoides

This species, commonly called "Christmas Fern", is one of the most
common ferns in IL & MO.. The plant gets its common name from
the fact that it is green all year round and that its pinnae look like
small Christmas stockings. This is one of the more easily
recognizable ferns in the state.
