How to create a short URL
Frustrated with posting long URLs in emails that wrap
2 or more lines?
Individual email settings may or may not show hyperlinks and some
have to cut and paste which sometimes creates issues.
TinyURL is just one of several websites providing this service
1. Copy the long URL from the web browser address block
2. Open the TinyURL page
3. Paste the long URL into the empty box and Click the "Make TinyURL" button
A page will open showing the long original URL and
immediately below ... the Short URL.
The short URL to copy is the the FIRST one just below the long original URL.
(The 2nd short URL is just for promoting TinyURL)
Copy and paste the first Short URL into the
body of the email.
As a demo ... send a test email to yourself
If not satisfied with the short URL's font in the
body of the email ... Open a text file
on the desktop and paste the short URL there ... then re-copy it and paste
it into the email.
