This is a Microabrasive Unit designed and built by
SLIP.
It utilizes 220 grit Aluminum Oxide abrasive powder.
The working pressures are 0 to 90 psi, and requires
at least 2 cfm compressed air. The model shown
includes abrasive hoses, chamber, vibrator,
and 3 different sizes of round tips (0.018, 0.025, 0.030).

The pictures above are an example of the type of work
that can be accomplished with the SLIP Micro-abrasive
Unit. Notice the 3 cm needle showing that the very fragile
spine on this Pennsylvanian brachiopod Dictyoclostus sp.
has been completely freed from the very hard matrix.
